Welcome to issue #17 of our recently launched Q&A series, Startup Spotlight.
This series is all about diving into the world-class technological innovation conducted by exciting UK startups. Getting to grips with the technology, the mission, and even the stories behind them.
In each edition, we sit down with a different startup founder, leader, or operator in an easily digestible conversational style Q&A format.
Today we chatted to the co-founder of Resolve Disputes Online, Aditya Shivkumar β here to tell us about his passion for making justice effortless and accessible.
Highlights:
- βοΈ How Resolve Disputes Online use technology to improve access to justice around the world
- β€οΈ Why passion matters when it comes to justice
- π Why Resolve Disputes Online is so focussed on Online Dispute Resolution (itβs all in the name!)
Did you know that each year 1 billion people need basic justice care?
And that each of us can expect to encounter a legal problem which'll have 'a major negative impact' on our lives every 7 years?
Interestingly, 60% of problems are related to neighbours, employment, family, land, and crime. And, only 24% ever get solved completely. Alarming, isnβt it?
A lack of access to justice can lead to poverty, homelessness, ill health, and unemployment. So why does it remain such a huge issue?
Access to justice is a UN sustainability goal, which is why Resolve Disputes Online (RDO) is leading the charge to provide a global solution to the problem.
RDO are here to make a difference. Their technology has been built by lawyers, mediators, and arbitrators from around the world who understand the litigation process and the need for greater access to justice and dispute resolution β because they have experienced it first-hand.
Their award-winning software empowers alternative dispute resolution (ADR) experts, courts, and tribunals with innovative technology to improve access to justice globally. A giant leap forward.
RDO are on a mission to create a society where everyone has access to justice.
But, how do they bring law, innovation, and technology together?
And, how has their trailblazing tech been recognised so far?
We got the answers to all of these questions. Here we go.π
