Welcome to issue #7 of our recently launched Q&A series, Startup Spotlight.
This series is all about diving into the world-class technological innovation conducted by exciting UK startups. Getting to grips with the technology, the mission, and even the stories behind them.
In each edition, we sit down with a different startup founder, leader, or operator in an easily digestible conversational style Q&A format.
Today, we spoke with the CEO of USPAAH, Iglika Ghouse, who’s changing the way busy parents and professionals take care of themselves by bringing wellness and beauty treatments to them.
Highlights:
- 🙃 Why the beauty and wellness industry needed to be turned on its head
- 🏙️ Revolutionising the hectic lives of people by making spa treatments more accessible
- 📱Leveraging digital media to reach busy professionals
Tired of body aches from a desk job and even more tired of waiting days and weeks to see someone about it, Iglika Ghouse had had enough.
Booking a massage or hair appointment should be an easy process, not adding to the stress of an already busy life.
That’s when she came up with the idea to simplify the beauty and wellness industry: by allowing customers to book in treatments around their hectic schedules, instead of being squeezed in by a chain spa.
Iglika is on a mission to bring qualified health and beauty therapists to suit the busy schedules of city professionals. With a team of ‘Sparistas’ in London, Essex, and beyond, USPAAH offers more than 50 services that can be booked within as little as an hour to be enjoyed in the comfort of one's own home.
USPAAH is also changing the way their Sparistas make money by offering them higher compensation than what’s traditionally offered.
Socially responsible freelancing is one of the fundamental pillars of their business structure. By using USPAAH, customers are helping contribute to more ethical practices in the beauty and wellness space.
Iglika gave us an insight into her business. 👇
